When politics fails… again

Over the past six months, I have been oddly glued to Fox News. I do not have cable, YouTube is amazing and shows lots of interesting stores from all types of media sites on the “top stories” and the not so top stories.

What struck my interest was the idea of the “red wave.” I must be honest, some part of me was hoping for some large change to happen that would help out the 99% of people who are the poor working class. I say this as ironically as possible because we are not the poor working class. Some may be financially poor while others are financially stable. Everyone is able to see that the housing market is ridiculous, as with gas prices, groceries, and electricity. Yet those in power only want to talk about abortion and gender equality and racism.

The promise that the red wave gave most people was that there would be actual change that could occur. The promise of a better tomorrow after the horrific two years that we have all endured. I would even go as far to say, the promise of what 2020 could have been versus what it actually was.

The only thing that is wrong with this picture is that, we can’t go back. We need to take the time to grieve what was lost, and mov forward. We need to realize that no matter who is in Washington D.C. or offices around the country, no one is coming to save us.

Earlier this year, I started religiously listening to Ram Dass and all the teachings and speeches he gave. In one of the talks that he gave, he commented about a presidential race. He assisted a friend with a new slogan for a presidential campaign, “Nobody for President” in the 1976-1988 presidential campaigns. The campaign’s slogan was genius because it subtly stated “Nobody is coming to save you.”

If we were to use this campaign for this past 2022 election cycle it would read something like this, “Nobody is going to fix the economy. Nobody is going stop the war in Ukraine. Nobody is going to help with the nuclear threats. Nobody is going to stop racism. Nobody is going to hold people accountable for their actions in 2019-2020. Nobody is going to fix this system that is only working for a very select few. Nobody is going to fix this health crisis. Nobody is going to solve the border problem. Nobody is going to solve the crime problem. Nobody is going to solve the Fentanyl problems. Nobody cares.”

The most ironic thing about it all, is that it is true. Nobody is going to solve these problems because we all keep waiting for someone else to do it. We are endlessly awaiting a Savior to come and save us from ourselves.

Christian churches teach that when you die, you will either go to heaven or hell. They spend endless amounts of money campaigning for you to go to heaven and literally scare the hell out of you. What they should be teaching instead is that, if we all did the work, here and now, we could make heaven here. Who knows what happens when we die, but what we are faced with now, is not something that most of us want to leave to our children.

Regardless of your financial standing, who you voted for, or what you believe in, we all have one thing in common. We are all human. There is no need for racism, sexism, discrimination, or any other type of -ism that separates the fact that we are all human beings sharing this planet at this particular point in time. We all have something incredible invaluable to contribute to the rest of the world. The things that the media shows and writes are meant to separate.

Story time

There was once an incredible new creation, homo sapiens sapiens (human). This creation was given incredible capabilities never before seen. They were able to live thousands of years, multiple, traverse the stars, construct incredible architecture that rivaled the gods. The gods however, did not like this. They created this new creation to be their servants. They grew tired of the endless noise that human made and wanted to stop it. The gods then sent disease, famine, and ultimately a flood to try and kill off this new incredible creation. Yet one remained. Due to another mischievous god, Enki, he wanted his creation to live. He saved the human line through one that was called Atrahasis. This man was saved inspire of Enki’s brother Enlil’s attempts to completely wipe them out. Enlil was outraged and decided that if human was going to live, the life expectancy would be cut down to 120 years.

Enlil saw that even though the life expectancy was cut short, it was not enough. Human was still able to do incredible things such as work together for a common good and common goal. Outraged Enlil then decided that if humans cannot communicate with each other, they cannot work towards a common good. Multiple languages were then born.

Some time later, Enki’s son Marduk and Thoth arrived to the scene. Thoth followed after his father and learned all the ways of his father and sought after wisdom to help human achieve their true potential. Marduk followed after Enlil and learned all the ways in which of manipulate and divide man.

As one generation lead to another, human became more and more divided. Enlil was gone, Marduk remained. Marduk ruled from another realm and became known as Ra the sun god. There were a select few that he worked through. Those select few became specialized in manipulation of human in order to gain control over human. They understood that if human truly understood their power, the charade would come crumbling down. In order to retain control of this world known as earth, human would have to remain in a state of fear, hate, and divide. If human were to ever realize that there was truly nothing separating one from the other, then earth would transform forever and become a true paradise.

Everything relies on fear, control and manipulation.

“Well that is a lovely story but what are we supposed to do now?” You may be asking yourself. The answer is simple yet the actions taken are not. Heal yourself. Now more than ever, there are endless amounts of content and help out there to help you heal. Heal your mind and body from past trauma and pain. Heal your body from over processed foods and under nutritional nourishment. Heal your spirit from all the lies and manipulation that it has endured. Begin to unlearn all the things that you were taught growing up. Heal everything and when you think you’re done, heal more. Heal as if your life depends on it.

Once you heal, help others. There is something inside of each of us that knows people in Washington are not going to do anything about what is going on. Yet when we heal, we become oddly immune to fear, control, and manipulation. We are still sucked into it at times, yet when we are calm and relaxed, we are able to easily see through the lies and reveal the truth.

Mahatma Gandhi said “We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.”

Fight for change in yourself. Fight for happiness and joy. Fight for life as if life itself depends on it, because it actually does. When the 99% of the world is no longer able to be controlled by fear, diversity, war, famine, or death, the 99% become incredible dangerous.

Side note: What do they know about us that we do not know? Why are they working so hard to keep us suppressed and controllable? What kind of incredible transformative power do we possess and are they possibly terrified of us finding it out?

It is time we take a stand and do as Gandhi says and change ourselves and then change the world. True, lasting change comes from grass root movements by people who are endlessly working to transform the lives of the communities around them. We need to fight for a change that involves everyone, of every color, nationality, race, religion, creed, and gender.

We are the change that we are waiting for.

  1. Bravo!!! Beautiful words, I believe exactly that. I’m so happy to see that more people are able to see things clearly as you are. We are the change we want to see in the world. We have everything in us but we have to do our homework and live peacefully and in balance with ourselves and nature. I was so depressed in 2020 when I witnessed the blatant disregard for law and respect to our citizens by all of Washington politicians and realized that nobody is coming to save us. I’m my own savior. So I started working on me. Since 2020 I don’t watch the news and every once in awhile I watch a movie with beautiful messages of hope and friendship. I look at people as my comrades and not enemies. I treat them with dignity so they learn how to love themselves. I started this journey since 2020 and only listen to my inner voice, the Creator is in me, that’s the only voice I listen to. I’m a new me. Things move me to compassion sometimes when I see injustices, however I do know that it is up to us to make things better. No more religion, politicians, bad news cycle wit “experts in fear and manipulation. No more TV for me, that is the biggest cancer in society. I don’t care about the Hollywood scumbags and all the false happiness they portrait. I’m free from it all.

    1. Thank you, and absolutely. Things are becoming more clear over time and its so wonderful to see so many people beginning to open their eyes to new things and ideas. Congratulations on working on you. I have found that it is the hardest thing that you will ever do, and at the same time, the most rewarding thing you can give yourself.
